The mission of Caring For Life (CFL) is to absorb some of the financial and emotional stress that our families experience so that they can rightfully concentrate on their child and families well being.

Caring For Life was started in 1991 was Linda Sivak of Youngsville. Although Linda did not have a child with medical problems, she recognized the lack of financial and emotional support for there families. For the next 11 years, CFL helped several Warren County families with their financial and emotional needs.

In 2004, Linda found that she could no longer devote the time that was needed for CFL. In November of 2004, Lori McNeal assumed the position of President of CFL and a new Board of Director’s was formed.

Originally, CFL was set up for catastrophically or terminally ill children. In early 2005, the new Board of Directors voted to change the target population to seriously ill children so that more families could be offered their services.

Since 2005, CFL has registered 67 families and reimbursed families over $342,247. We’ve also given out 78 care packages to families whose child was flown to a children’s hospital in an emergency situation.
